Tai Chi Ruler Exercises. The Tai Chi Ruler is held between the palms. The Ruler provides a focus point as well as guides the direction of the flow of Qi (energy). Weight on the same side as the Ruler, shoulders and elbows down (except during Rainbow). When stepping forward, weight pours from heel to toe. When stepping backward, weight pours from toe to heel.
